Broncos Sign CB Andre' Goodman

The Dolphins have lost a key member of their secondary today as the Denver Broncos signed free agent cornerback Andre' Goodman to a multi-year contract.

A seven-year veteran, the 30-year-old Goodman spent the past three seasons with the Dolphins after spending the first four years of his career with the Detroit Lions. In 2008, he led the Dolphins with five interceptions and also racked up 19 pass deflections.

Goodman is the second free agent defensive back of the Dolphins' to join the Broncos. Free safety Renaldo Hill inked a four-year deal with the team on Feb.27.

It's no surprise the Broncos were the ones to sign Goodman and Hill. New head coach Josh McDaniels has plenty of experience facing the two as an assistant for the New England Patriots.

I'm pretty disappointed the team was unable to retain Goodman's services. Although he's getting up there in years, he was coming off a career year and was a fantastic corner in 2008.

The Dolphins also really don't have any depth at the position behind starter Will Allen. The team has Nathan Jones, Joey Thomas, Jason Allen, Will Billingsley and Scorpio Babers under contract, though none of those players really have the ability to start.
