Bodden the latest corner off the market

The cornerback market got a little thinner today as free agent Leigh Bodden signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots.

Bodden, 27, was a breakout player for the Cleveland Browns before being traded to Detroit last offseason in the deal that sent nose tackle Shaun Rogers to Cleveland. Bodden recorded 73 tackles, three forced fumbles and an interception in his lone season with the Lions.

As you know, the Dolphin are in need of a starting corner opposite Will Allen after Andre' Goodman left for Denver in free agency. The team visited with Cardinals free agent Eric Green (still available) last week and showed interest in Steelers free agent Bryant McFadden before he signed with Arizona.

Ex-Dolphin Daniels heads to KC

Former Dolphins cornerback Travis Daniels has signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A fourth-round pick by the Dolphins out of LSU in 2005, Daniels played three seasons with the Dolphins before being traded to Cleveland in August 2008 in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the upcoming 2009 NFL Draft.

It's no surprise to see Daniels go to Kansas City. New general manager Scott Pioli has a history with former Dolphins head coach Nick Saban when the two were with the Browns in the early '90s. Saban coached Daniels at LSU and drafted him when he was head coach of the Dolphins.
