2010 NFL Draft: Top Centers

With the 2010 NFL Draft less than one week away, I will be highlighting the top players at each position in this year's class.

These are my center prospects available in the 2010 NFL Draft.

1. Maurkice Pouncey, Florida

A three-year starter for the Gators where he played with his brother Mike, Maurkice Pouncey was a first-team All-SEC, first-team All-American, and won the Rimington Trophy as the nation's best center in 2009.

A strong, terrific athlete with tons of experience at a top program, Pouncey is easily this year's top center prospect while also profiling as one of the best guards. He should crack this year's first round and could go as high as No. 19 to Atlanta.

2. Matt Tennant, Boston College

Tennant capped off his collegiate career in which he was a three-year starter for the Eagles with second-team All-ACC honors as a senior in 2009.

A solid all-around blocker with great intangibles, Tennant is the latest in a long line of BC blockers and should find a home somewhere in the third round of this year's draft.

3. J. D. Walton, Baylor

A transfer from Arizona State, Walton went on to start three seasons for the Bears and was named a second-team All-Big 12 selection and first-team AP All-American.

Walton lacks ideal height for the offensive line at only 6-foot-2, but he's a strong physical blocker with plenty of experience and work ethic. He will likely go in the third or fourth round of this year's draft.

4. Eric Olsen, Notre Dame

A four-year player for the Fighting Irish, Olsen started at both guard spots as well as center during his time at Notre Dame.

While is isn't the best athlete at his position, Olsen is a smart, experienced lineman that should go somewhere between the third and fifth rounds.

5. Ted Larsen, North Carolina State

A defensive tackle for the Wolfpack before moving to center in 2008, Larsen was voted the team's top lineman during each of his final two seasons.

A hard-working, high-intensity lineman with room to grow, Larsen's stock has been on the rise and he could go in the middle rounds of this year's draft.
