Miami Dolphins Alumni Update: December 2010

These are all the pro football transactions involving for Miami Dolphins players in December 2010:
  • Dec. 2 — The Buffalo Bills placed linebacker Reggie Torbor on injured reserve. Torbor played in all 32 games for the Dolphins from 2008 to 2009, starting three games and totaling 54 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception, four pass deflections. He was released by the Dolphins on May 27.
  • Dec. 3 — The Kansas City Chiefs released linebacker Eric Bakhtiari from the practice squad. Bakhtiari spent a week on the Dolphins' practice squad in November 2010.
  • Dec. 6 — The Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Kelvin Smith to the practice squad. The Dolphins' seventh-round pick in 2007, Smith played in four games for the Dolphins as a rookie and spent the entire 2008 season with the team on injured reserve with a knee injury.
  • Dec. 7 — The Minnesota Vikings signed running back Lorenzo Booker to a contract. Drafted by the Dolphins in the third round in 2007, Booker rushed for 125 yards and caught 28 passes for 237 yards as a rookie. He was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a fourth-round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
  • Dec. 7 — The Seattle Seahawks waived defensive tackle Clifton Geather.
  • Dec. 8 — The Dallas Cowboys claimed defensive end Clifton Geathers off waivers. Geathers spent nearly three months between the Dolphins' practice squad and active roster in 2010, appearing in one game but recording no stats.
  • Dec. 8 — The Kansas City Chiefs signed linebacker Micah Johnson to the practice squad. Signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in August 2010, Johnson appeared in the regular season opener and recorded one tackle before being waived and re-signed to the practice squad. He was released on Dec. 1.
  • Dec. 14 — The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Eric Bakhtiari to the practice squad.
  • Dec. 14 — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed linebacker J. D. Folsom to the practice squad. A seventh-round pick by the Dolphins in 2009, Folsom appeared in two games as a rookie and recorded one tackle. He also had a brief stint on the Dolphins' practice squad in 2010.
  • Dec. 15 — The New York Jets waived wide receiver Patrick Turner. A third-round pick by the Dolphins in 2009, Turner appeared in two games as a rookie and did not catch a pass. He was waived prior to the 2010 season.
  • Dec. 15 — The Tennessee Titans place defensive tackle Tony Brown on injured reserve. Brown spent three games with the Dolphins in 2003 but did not appear in game.
  • Dec. 16 — The Minnesota Vikings signed quarterback Patrick Ramsey to a contract. Ramsey spent two weeks with the Dolphins in November 2010 after injuries to some of the team's quarterbacks.
  • Dec. 17 — The New York Jets re-signed wide receiver Patrick Turner to the practice squad.
  • Dec. 20 — The Baltimore Ravens promoted tight end Davon Drew from the practice squad. Originally drafted by the Ravens in 2009, Drew was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins on Sept. 6, only to be waived/injured with an ankle injury two days later. He was released from injured reserve with an injury settlement on Sept. 10.
  • Dec. 20 — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers promoted tight end Nathan Overbay from the practice squad. Overbay spent one week on the Dolphins' practice squad in September 2010.
  • Dec. 21 — The Cleveland Browns promoted nose tackle Travis Ivey from the practice squad. Ivey signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and was waived on Aug. 23.
  • Dec. 23 — The Denver Broncos placed placekicker Matt Prater on injured reserve. Prater spent the 2007 offseason and preseason with the Dolphins, but lost the kicking competition to Jay Feely.
  • Dec. 29 — The Seattle Seahawks signed defensive end Maurice Fountain to the practice squad. Fountain sign with the Dolphins in early August 2009, but was waived during final cuts less than a month later.
