Miami Dolphins Alumni Update: May 2011

These are all the pro football transactions involving for Miami Dolphins players in May 2011:

  • May 2 — The Omaha Nighthawks (UFL) selected offensive lineman Joe Toledo 12th overall and defensive end Brian Johnston 39th overall in the 2011 UFL Draft. The Dolphins' fourth-round pick in 2006, but did not play a game in two seasons with the team. Johnston spent part of the 2010 offseason with the team but was waived before training camp.
  • May 9 — The Kansas City Command (AFL) acquired wide receiver Todd Devoe from the Chicago Rush for future considerations. Devoe spent two weeks on the Dolphins' practice squad in Sept. 2004.
  • May 9 — The Hartford Colonials (UFL) signed wide receiver Ryan Grice-Mullen to a contract. Grice-Mullen attended training camp with the Dolphins in 2010, but was waived during the preseason.
  • May 10 — The Kansas City Command (AFL) placed wide receiver Todd Devoe on the Refused to Report list.
  • May 11 — The Kansas City Command (AFL) activated wide receiver Todd Devoe from the Refused to Report list.
  • May 11 — The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) released defensive end Mike Lanbinjo. Labinjo was a linebacker for the Dolphins in 2005 and 2006, but did not appear in a game.
  • May 11 — The Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL) signed linebacker K. C. Asiodu to a contract. Asiodu spent a week on the Dolphins' practice squad between September and October 2009.
  • May 12 — The Hartford Colonials (UFL) signed punter Jy Bond to a contract. An Australian rules football player, Bond was a member of the Dolphins' offseason roster from March to June 2009.
  • May 12 — The Las Vegas Locomotives (UFL) signed defensive tackle Montavious Stanley to a contract. Stanley spent the 2010 offseason with the team and recorded three tackles in the preseason before being released during final cuts.
  • May 13 — The Hartford Colonials (UFL) re-signed safety Brannon Condren and offensive lineman Orrin Thompson to contracts. Condren spent nearly a month with the Dolphins between October and November 2008, appearing in four games and recording three special teams tackles before his release on Nov. 10. A defensive tackle at Duke, Thompson was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2005 and converted to the offensive line, where he spent two seasons on the practice squad.
  • May 17 — The Calgary Stampeders (CFL) signed cornerback Scorpio Babers to a contract. Babers spent part of the 2008 season on the Dolphins' practice squad.
  • May 18 — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL) signed wide receiver Chris Williams to a contract. Williams signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2009, but was waived with an injury settlement on Aug. 25 after breaking his wrist during the preseason.
  • May 18 — The Sacramento Mountain Lions (UFL) signed cornerback Will Poole to a contract. Drafted by the Dolphins in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft, Poole recorded 31 tackles, a sack, and five pass deflections in three seasons with the team.
  • May 19 — The Toronto Argonauts (CFL) acquired wide receiver P. K. Sam from the Calgary Stampeders. Sam spent part of the 2006 season on the Dolphins' practice squad and played in NFL Europa for the team in 2007 before being released during final cuts.
  • May 19 —  The Hartford Colonials (UFL) signed defensive end Maurice Fountain and linebacker Danny Lansanah to contracts. Fountain sign with the Dolphins in early August 2009, but was waived during final cuts less than a month later. Lansanah spent most of September 2009 on the Dolphins' practice squad.
  • May 20 —The Sacramento Mountain Lions (UFL) signed wide receiver Tab Perry to a contract. Perry signed with the Dolphins in the 2008 offseason, but suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in May and spent his one season with the team on injured reserve.
  • May 25 — The Hartford Colonials (UFL) signed cornerback Geoffrey Pope to a contract and released offensive lineman Rueben Riley. Pope was signed by the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2007, but was waived during final cuts. Riley was with the Dolphins in training camp in 2008, joining the team on July 26 and being waived Aug. 3.
  • May 26 — The Sacramento Mountain Lions (UFL) signed wide receiver Jayson Foster to a contract. A college quarterback at Georgia Southern, Foster signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2008 but did not make the team.
  • May 31 — The Saskatchewan Roughriders (CFL) signed defensive back Courtney Bryan to a contract. Bryan appeared in 19 games for the Dolphins over the 2007 and 2008 seasons, recording 14 tackles.
